What is the difference between UL and NFPA ?

UL and NFPA are both non-profit organizations that are dedicated to promoting safety and preventing accidents. However, there are significant differences between the two organizations in terms of their focus and scope.

UL's primary focus is on evaluating individual products for safety compliance. They conduct testing, inspections, and audits to ensure that products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. UL's testing procedures cover a wide range of topics, including electrical safety, fire safety, and performance.

On the other hand, NFPA's primary focus is on developing and publishing comprehensive codes and standards for fire prevention and public safety. They work with various industries and authorities to establish safety standards for fire protection, including building construction, electrical systems, flammable materials, and emergency preparedness.

UL and NFPA share a common goal of promoting safety and preventing accidents, but they differ in the scope and focus of their activities. UL is primarily focused on evaluating individual products, while NFPA is primarily focused on developing and publishing codes and standards for fire prevention and public safety.
